For CPAs, Accountants, Lawyers & Wealth Advisors

An Insurance Resource for Your Business-Owner Clients

When a client's corporate structure, estate plan, or retirement projections surface an insurance question, Gavin Dyer handles the insurance analysis and implementation — carrier comparison, policy structure, underwriting — while you stay the advisor of record.

This isn't an attempt to take over your client relationship. Gavin works collaboratively with your existing accountant and lawyer, stays strictly in insurance territory, and reports back before anything is implemented.

How This Works

Three Steps, No Overlap With Your Work

This isn't a lead-gen arrangement or a commission scheme — it's a working relationship built around a clear division of labour. You keep the relationship and the tax/legal work with your client; Gavin keeps the insurance piece in his lane.

01

You flag a client

A client's corporate structure, estate plan, or retirement projections raise an insurance-relevant question — retained earnings, a tax liability at death, a buy-sell agreement, an equalization need.

02

Gavin takes the insurance piece

Gavin runs the conversation on coverage, carrier comparison, and policy structure. You stay the client's advisor of record throughout — nothing about that relationship changes.

03

You get looped back in

Before anything is implemented, the insurance recommendation comes back to you and the client together, so the structure lines up with the tax and legal planning you've already done.

Where the Line Is

Gavin is an AIC-licensed insurance broker — not a tax advisor, not a lawyer, and not a comprehensive financial planner. He is not trying to replace your relationship with your client or take over the file. Referrals stay strictly in insurance and insurance-adjacent territory: life, disability, critical illness, corporate-owned insurance, and the policy structures built around them.

Tax filings, corporate tax structuring, and legal documents stay with your firm or the client's lawyer, as they should. On complex corporate or estate cases, Gavin brings in TruStone Financial MGA's in-house tax and insurance specialists to make sure the insurance structure is built correctly around the tax work — not instead of it. For investment management or comprehensive financial planning outside insurance, Gavin refers to Adam Vickers, CFP, at Harbourfront Wealth Management rather than attempting it himself.

Who's On The Team

Gavin Isn't Working This Alone

Gavin identifies where insurance fits into your estate picture. When the case needs tax, legal, or investment expertise, he brings in a team built for exactly that.

TruStone Financial

TruStone Financial MGA

Gavin is independently contracted through TruStone Financial, a national managing general agency. On complex cases, TruStone's in-house tax and insurance specialists review the structure — corporate ownership, CDA mechanics, policy design — alongside Gavin, before anything is recommended.

Harbourfront Wealth Management

For investment management, comprehensive financial planning, or anything outside insurance, Gavin works through a formal referral partnership with Adam Vickers, CFP — Wealth Advisor and Senior Planning Associate at Harbourfront Wealth Management — so your wealth management stays with a licensed professional, not a broker guessing at it.

Gavin coordinates the introductions. Your accountant and lawyer stay in the loop the entire time.
